Keaton Grant’s Game-Winner Helps No. 3 Purdue Escape Minnesota, 59-58

Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) - Keaton Grant hit the eventual game-winning jumper with 7.7 seconds remaining in regulation, as No. 3 Purdue escaped Williams Arena with an exciting 59-58 win over Minnesota despite playing the second half without star forward Robbie Hummel.

Hummel exited the game with 7:11 remaining in the first half after turning his ankle as he drove the lane. He needed help on his way into the locker room and was seen walking around with the assistance of crutches in the second half.

Hummel, whose injury was not revealed during the game, had 11 points before watching his teammates gut out a 10th straight victory. JaJuan Johnson posted 14 points and 11 rebounds, Grant scored 10 points and E'Twaun Moore added 11 for the Boilermakers (24-3, 12-3 Big Ten), who remain a half-game ahead of Ohio State for first place in the Big Ten.

Ralph Sampson III had 21 points and seven rebounds for the Golden Gophers (16-11, 7-8), who had a two-game winning streak snapped. Devoe Joseph scored nine points but missed a potential game-winner at the buzzer.
