The Minnesota Wild have reached an agreement with Cal Clutterbuck in the form of a three-year extension worth $4.2 million dollars which works out to an average of $1.4 million per season. Clutterbuck set a record with 356 hits as a rookie last season and is leading the league again.

Aside from his physicality, he has also shown a decent scoring touch with 12 tallies and tied his career-high of 18 points through 54 games. The 22-year-old, who would have become an unrestricted free agent in July, loves the city as much as its fans adore his style of play.
“It never really crossed my mind to go anywhere else,” he said. “It’s one of those things where I’m pretty happy that the people here want me here as much as I want to be here. It’s something you don’t really find a lot in hockey these days and fortunately I’ve found it.”
