It only took a day for tonight’s Bitetti Combat 6 card to go from a solid pair of fights at the top of the card to being headlined by a fighter who wasn’t on the card at all just a few days ago. Main event fighter Paulo Filho pulled out of his fight with Yuki Sasaki due to personal problems on Sunday and was replaced by teammate Thales Leites (who was not on the card at all) only to have Sasaki say that he was not willing to fight unless it was against Filho. In response Paulo re-entered the event on Monday and the fight was scheduled to move ahead.

Then, yesterday, co-main event fighter Jeff Monson did not make the weigh-ins and it was announced that he was off the card entirely. Also, Filho was missing from the weigh-ins and the promotion claimed it was due to trouble with his flight.
In a somewhat predictable new wrinkle tonight’s card will now not feature Paulo Filho vs. Yuki Sasaki as Filho is out completely. Sasaki was offered a last-minute fight with Daniel Acacio but Sasaki turned it down.
The event will now be headlined by Thales Leites vs. Rico Washington. There are some other quality fights on the card and SB Nation’s own Bloody Elbow has results and commentary on the event.
