Chargers Allow RB Sproles To Become Free Agent; Lose Second Running Back This Week

Just days after releasing franchise running back LaDainian Tomlinson, the Chargers today chose not to tender a contract to change of pace running back Darren Sproles, making him a free agent.

Last season the Chargers made Sproles their franchise player, but to do that this year they would have to pay the diminutive return man $7.3 million.

Despite being a free agent, Sproles could still resign with the Chargers.
