Cromartie ‘Highly Unlikely’ To Be Traded To The Lions

On Sunday it was reported that the Chargers and Lions had talks concerning a trade for Antonio Cromartie. According to Tom Kowalski of MLive.com, that is now “highly unlikely” to happen.

Kowalski that the two sides definitely had talks regarding Cromartie but it doesn’t appear anything will happen.

The Lions are very thin at cornerback, but Cromartie doesn’t appear to play the physical brand of football that head coach Jim Schwartz is looking for.

If Cromartie can’t be traded, it’s possible the Chargers will release him.

Considering a few (ahem) of Cromartie’s off the field concerns, I’d imagine his value isn’t at an all-time high right now. Still, though, he’s likely to be signed by someone if/when the Chargers release him.
