Troubling news out of Minneapolis today, as early this morning, Minnesota Timberwolves big man Al Jefferson was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. Here's what the Minneapolis Star-Tribune had to say:
Timberwolves Forward Al Jefferson Arrested On DWI Charge
Jefferson, 25, was booked into Hennepin County Jail on suspicion of fourth-degree driving while impaired about 2:15 a.m. and released an hour later, according to Hennepin County jail records. A court appearance has been scheduled for 8:30 a.m. April 23.
The Star-Tribune’s account of the incident is scarce; we don’t have a mugshot or a breathalyzer reading or any other sordid details, for example. For Jefferson’s sake, we hope those details are sufficiently mundane that this incident doesn’t become a hindrance on what should be a very productive career.
The Timberwolves have yet to comment.
