MMA Weekly says two lightweights who are very familiar with each other will trade shots in June:
Tyson Griffin and Evan Dunham Meet In UFC 115 Clash Of Lightweight Contenders
A lightweight showdown pitting the returning Tyson Griffin against the emerging Evan Dunham is on tap for UFC 115 on June 12 in Vancouver.
MMAWeekly.com sources on Tuesday night said the bout has been agreed to, but not yet signed.
Both fighters have spent time training at the Xtreme Couture gym in Las Vegas for their most recent fights. One source indicated that the two would go their separate ways in preparation for the bout. Griffin is expected to remain at Xtreme Couture, while Dunham will take his training elsewhere.
Dunham is 10-0 and appears to have a bright future following his UFC wins over Per Eklund, Marcus Aurelio, and Efrain Escudero. Evan would vault himself into the title picture with a win over the #13 ranked lightweight in the world.
Griffin is coming off a very impressive win over Hermes Franca where he stopped the very durable Franca to help shed his reputation as a guy who couldn’t finish.
