Can you blame the guy? The sport of MMA is addicting. At first glance, the beautiful, yet violent nature of the action may make you second guess what it is exactly you are watching, or in Walker’s case partaking in. But once you dive into the strategy and nuances of the game, most people can’t help but to get bit by the bug.
Herschel Walker Is Ready To Throwdown Again
↵And it looks as though the purest form of sport has claimed yet another victim. After his successful debut last weekend at Strikeforce: Miami, it appears that Walker is ready for more. Sherdog.com has the scoop.
↵↵“Yes, I’d love to fight again. I’m going get back into the gym and say I’d love to have another fight, and I’m gonna work hard, but I’m leaving it in my trainers and coaches’ hands and the fighters at the gym,” said Walker. “If they think I’m not ready, they gotta tell me, and I will swallow my pride and not do it.”
↵↵Whether or not MMA fans will ever embrace Walker as a legitimate fighter remains to be seen, but you can bet that Scott Coker and company at Strikeforce would love to have Herschel back. Strikeforce: Miami drew 517,000 viewers for Showtime, making it the second most watched MMA event ever for the network. And much of the card’s success can be directly attributed to the mainstream buzz that the former Heisman trophy winner created.
↵If Walker is to return to the cage, there is already talk of holding his next fight on Strikeforce’s return to CBS this April. Along with pound-for-pound king Fedor Emelianenko and living legend Dan Henderson on the card, Walker’s presence could very well help the event reach the six million viewership plateau.
