Contrast in Intensity: Romanowski and Faulk Reflect on Former Teams, Stalwarts of Today and Super Sunday

Even though he spent the bulk of his career with the 49ers and the Broncos, former linebacker Bill Romanowski leaves little doubt as to where his football allegiances lie now: the Raiders. Anyone who follows his feed on Twitter knows he’s a font of intense bursts of Internet rage and gridiron platitudes when his team plays on Sundays. I caught up with the four-time Super Bowl champion to get his thoughts on the Tom Cable and JaMarcus Russell situations in Oakland, as well as who he thinks will prevail on Sunday. Be advised that looking into his eyes, even fleetingly and through the filter of video, will instantly liquefy your brain and evacuate your bowels. Just making sure The Sporting News isn’t held liable when that happens.

Later on, I was treated to a lively talk with Marshall Faulk, who was all too thrilled to discuss being torn over picking the Colts or the Saints, in addition to thoughts on playing with Kurt Warner, his time with NFL Network and Chris Johnson breaking his single-season record. If he seems a little bored, Faulk can be excused for at least providing a palate cleanser for the hypno-oculars of the original Romo.
