Josh Harding has been a back-up goaltender for most of his career with the Minnesota Wild. This next save we’re about to discuss is the material of a starter though. An individual effort by Marc Pouliot presented Jean-Francois Jacques with an empty net and what appeared to be an easy goal. But the 25-year-old netminder would have none of it, diving across the crease to snag a tally that would have given Edmonton a 3-2 lead.
Josh Harding Makes Possible Save Of The Year

↵Harding had aggravated a hip injury during Pouliot’s goal earlier in the game and stayed in action. He would hurt himself more when he made the highlight reel save on Jacques. Teammates and the team trainer assisted Harding off the ice following the amazing sequence. Minnesota fed off of that momentum and pulled out a 4-2 win for their goaltender who really took one for the team on this play.
