newcomer Ronys Torres.Torres was able to control the first round on the strength of solid double leg takedowns and control, but Guillard showed the ability to avoid damage throughout the round.
In the second and third rounds Torres was able to get the occasional takedown but could not do anything with it and Guillard got back to his feet with regularity. When they were standing Guillard was able to land punches and leg kicks with frequency.
The fight went to the judges scorecards and all three scored the bout 29-28 for Melvin Guillard.
