Matt Serra Knocks Out Frank Trigg

In a grudge match between two

UFC

veterans Frank Trigg made the mistake of trying to stand up with Matt Serra. While Trigg was able to control distance for most of the fight including landing a nice flurry of punches at one point, eventually Serra was able to land one of his powerful looping punches. As Trigg stumbled from the first shot Serra followed up with more punches that put Frank on his back. From there Serra landed several heavy punches to the downed Trigg causing his body to go limp and the referee to jump in and end the bout, awarding Matt Serra with a first round KO victory.

Frank protested the stoppage but replays showed it was a very correct call as Frank’s defense went limp and then came back after another punch appeared to bring him back to awareness.
