It may not have been the prettiest fight ever, but in the end Demian Maia was able to get back on the winning track with a decision win over Dan Miller. For the majority of the fight the two men fought on their feet as Maia was unable to get the fight to the floor for any length of time. Most would have predicted this meant good things for Miller, but he was never able to get on track while Maia was able to fire counter punches.
Demian Maia Decisions Dan Miller
In the third Miller landed a shot that appeared to affect Maia but when he attempted to pounce he ended up on his back and instead fought the rest of the round from his back. While Miller was able to defend he didn’t do anything that really scored.
The judges scores were 29-28 x2 and 30-27 all for Demian Maia.
