A Super Bowl win for the Colts would have strengthened Peyton Manning’s case for being the greatest quarterback of all time. But Tracy Porter’s interception return for a touchdown doomed Indianapolis and reminded everyone of Manning’s mediocre big-game record.
Drew Brees, meanwhile, took MVP honors, capping his rise from lightly recruited high school quarterback to Super Bowl champion.
