It looks as if Michael Bisping wants to make a quick turnaround following his relatively narrow decision loss to Wanderlei Silva at UFC 110. MMA Junkie is reporting that Bisping will get back in the cage at UFC 114 against Dan Miller:
Michael Bisping v. Dan Miller at UFC 114
A middleweight bout between Michael Bisping (18-3 MMA, 8-3 UFC) and Dan Miller (11-3 MMA, 3-2 UFC), established contenders both desperately in need of a win, is likely to take place in May at UFC 114.
Multiple sources close to the event today told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) that UFC officials are working to sign the bout and that at least one competitor has agreed to the matchup.
If signed the fight would likely be part of the main card for UFC 114, which takes place May 29 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and airs on pay-per-view.
Both men seem to be in the same place in the division where they’re able to hang with all but the top tier of middleweights. For Bisping, his losses in the division have come to Dan Henderson and Wanderlei silva where Dan Miller came up short to Chael Sonnen and Demian Maia.
While Bisping’s striking has a major flaw in the lack of power he does use movement well enough that he should be able to win a fight standing against a guy who was outstruck by Demian Maia in his last fight. Miller’s BJJ game will also have trouble getting on track against Bisping who has a very underrated ground game of his own.
The loser of this fight is going to have trouble convincing anyone that they can be anything more than a gatekeeper at 185 pounds.
