Sedin Twins Donate $1.5 Million To Build BC Children’s Hospital

Daniel and Henrik Sedin have donated $1.5 million to assist in the construction of a new BC Children’s Hospital in Vancouver. The donation is intended to support the hospital’s Campaign for BC Children and particularly to the intensive care unit and diagnostics and imaging area in the new hospital.

↵The twins, who have supported the children’s hospital for many years by visiting and appearing in TV fund-raising ads, said they and their families feel very fortunate to live and work in Vancouver and want to give something back that would benefit children and families across the province.

↵In a campaign hoping to raise $200 million, the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation says they surpassed $100 million in December. As the province’s only full-service, acute-care facility for kids, BC Children’s Hospital serves a million children in B.C. and the Yukon, with 72,000 patients treated last year. Every donation is vital and the Sedin’s are more than doing their part in helping the children.
