Obama Takes Daring Stance In Favor of the Capitals
↵
↵If this video is to be believed, President Obama has nixed his support for health care reform and refocused his efforts on backing the Washington Capitals. A curious transition, if you ask me. Like health care reform, the Capitals have a long history of failure. However, as with the legislation, right now is probably the best chance the team has ever had to succeed, though that’s far from guaranteed. ↵↵This, of course, is a fantasy. The president has attended several sporting events in D.C., but has yet to make it to a hockey game, despite an invitation from the Caps owner. One of their fans is taking a more artistic approach to getting the president in the stands, with a creative edit of the State of the Union address, and forming the Barack the Red campaign, which seeks to get the seemingly arbitrary number of 18,000 followers on Facebook. Oh, and he’s drafted a petition and open invitation to the POTUS to attend a Caps game. Will it be effective? That’s questionable. But it’s certainly a worthwhile effort if it keeps producing material like the video above.↵
