ESPN Crosses Ochocinco, Finds Itself in OCNN’s Crosshairs

Friday night, Brian Kenny teased a SportsCenter piece on Chad Ochocinco’s off-season activities -- like Dancing With the Stars and his VH1 reality show -- with the tagline “Recipe for Disaster?” The subject of the story did not take kindly to that.

He then proceeded to turn the tables on the Worldwide Leader. (Note: All of Ochocinco’s tweets are obviously sic’d.)

So far, that hasn’t produced anything else from Ochocinco, even though followers pointed him in the right direction. But that’s not to say it won’t.With athletes like Ochocinco who are smart enough to circumvent the media with a “news network,” ESPN already has to worry about the athletes it covers potentially disagreeing with the network’s coverage and shutting them out. But if vindictive athletes are inclined to turn the bright lights on ESPN and reveal inconvenient details about its employees, the network may have to worry about coverage breakdowns of its own.
