The Detroit Lions haven’t won a Thanksgiving day game since 2003. They must have to rebound at some point, though, right?
Make The Stuffing ‘Cause The Lions Will Play The Patriots On Thanksgiving
↵If they do, it doesn’t look good for this season:
↵↵The fact that the Jets will be hosting a Thanksgiving night game means that the Patriots will be traveling to Detroit earlier in the day. Because CBS will be televising the game hosted by the Lions, the road team must be from the AFC, and the only AFC teams playing in Ford Field this season will be the Pats and the Jets.
↵↵The NFL hasn’t released its full schedule yet, but it does look like the Lions drew the shortstraw and will be playing the Patriots this Thanksgiving. These two have dueled before on T-Day back in 2002 -- the second-worst season under Bill Belichick’s realm (the Pats went 9-7). It was close, but the Patriots still were able to beat the Lions during their Super Bowl hangover, 20-12.
↵But this is the NFL, Lions fans. It’s all about parity! Hold out hope and pray to the Football Gods: your turkey may taste just a bit sweeter this year.
