UPDATE: Well, the NFL Network unofficial time was way off. The official time from the NFL: 4.43. He’s still the fastest DB of the official times listed.

↵As we know, Titans running back Chris Johnson is always on the lookout for racing partners, be it basketball players, fellow NFL stars or even Olympic sprinters. He may have found his closest match after today, however, when former USC safety Taylor Mays ran an as-of-now unofficial 4.24 time in the 40 at the Scouting Combine. If it holds up, that of course matches Johnson’s fastest ever 40-yard dash time from two years ago.↵

Chris Johnson May Have Found Himself a Racing Partner
↵
↵Johnson already is expressing disbelief on Twitter, as it seems is everyone else in the wake of the announcement. ↵

↵
↵↵Former Clemson running back C.J. Spiller ran a sub-4.3 time, only to have a tenth of a second added to the official time later. Unofficially, Mays ran a 4.34 in his second attempt.↵
↵↵Even should Mays not match Johnson, it’s quite a feat for someone roughly four inches taller and 30 pounds heavier than the star running back. Either way, another race challenge may be in order.↵
