Detroit Red Wings Living By The Seconds

Every minute second in hockey is important because of the game’s speed and the Detroit Red Wings have been making them count this week. After earning a point against the Edmonton Oilers on Friday thanks to Brian Rafalski’s equalizer with 0.2 seconds remaining in regulation, Detroit had a challenging task in the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday.

↵It took more than half the game, but Todd Bertuzzi finally got them on the board in the second period.

↵Five seconds later, Pavel Datsyuk pulled out his typical tricks and fooled Roberto Luongo.

↵

↵Overtime would solve this match as Henrik Zetterberg decided he wasn’t interested in a shoot-out during the dying seconds.

↵The win brought the Red Wings into eighth place in the Western Conference and just like they are living on the edge in the standings, it’s been similar in recent games. Desperate times call for desperate measures.
