In accordance with reports that emerged earlier this week, Tom Penders is no longer the head basketball coach at the University of Houston.

Brooks of Sports By Brooks is reporting that Penders met with UH athletic director Mack Rhoades to discuss his future with the program.
Penders was giving the option of being reassigned within the athletic dept., retire or be fired.
In six seasons with the Cougars, Penders was 121-77. He recently led UH to its first NCAA tournament appearance in 18 years.
