Entering the 2010 NCAA Tournament, Ivy League schools were best known for their old buildings and government-orchestrating secret societies. This could change on Sunday, as 12-seed Cornell meets 4-seed Wisconsin in the East Region’s second round.
NCAA Tournament, Cornell-Wisconsin: Hop On The Rich Kid Bandwagon At 2:50 P.M.
Our Wisconsin blog, Bucky’s 5th Quarter, has a live game thread ready to go.
Bucky’s 5th Quarter is also taking Cornell seriously. So seriously, in fact, that they’re predicting the Badgers to lose.
Cornell 72, Wisconsin 65. I absolutely hate this matchup. Against Wofford, you saw what can happen when the opponent gets hot, even when you are a great defensive team like Wisconsin. The Big Red is playing with so much confidence right now and they seem to be hitting every shot. Meanwhile, Wisconsin is in a deep shooting slump and until Bohannon has a breakout game, that will continue. Foote is an impressive 7-footer and if he gets Leuer and/or Nankivil in foul trouble, that’s exactly what the Badgers will be in... trouble. A Sweet 16 matchup against Kentucky would be great, but unfortunately, I think we have another Davidson on our hands. Hot opponent, wrong time. Cornell wins.
