Northern Virginia chiropractor Douglas Nagel was arrested earlier today and charged by Florida authorities with seven counts of conspiring to deliver a controlled substance, specifically steroids. According to an affidavit, police were told that Nagel “boasted about supplying steroids to members of the Major League Baseball’s Washington Nationals and the National Hockey League’s Washington Capitals.”
Is This Bud’s New Approach To Competitive Balance?
↵C’mon, admit it. Your first thought on hearing the Nationals were involved, was that they should ask for a refund on those “performance-enhancing drugs,” having lost more games since 2006 than any other major-league team. After the ludicrous “flexible realignment” concept, maybe this is Bud Selig’s next suggestion to improve competitive balance - waive drug testing for teams under a certain payroll. Or maybe the Capitals, who look set to win their division for the third straight season, just got all the good stuff?
