↵“If I was a musician, I’d be Kanye West. If I was in the NBA, I’d be Ron Artest. In baseball, they’ve got Milton Bradley. I’m that guy. You need people like me, so you can point your finger and go, ‘There goes the bad guy.’”
Does This Make Kanye West The Milton Bradley Of Music?
↵↵So said Milton Bradley, somewhat over-estimating his place in the baseball hierarchy I reckon. After all, West’s last three albums have reached #1, while Bradley has one All-Star appearance in his decade-long career and hit .257 last season.
↵If Bradley is to be matched with anyone musical, seems to me that a more appropriate comparison would be Amy Winehouse. Both occasionally show flashes of talent, but are far greater in their own mind than reality. In addition, they’re too much trouble for anyone to hang out with for long, and both get far more coverage in the media than is actually deserved.
↵However, if Bradley storms the stage during Andre Dawson’s Hall of Fame speech at Cooperstown, to rant about how Bert Blyleven had one of the best careers of all-time, I may be willing to re-think my position.
