From the Deseret News comes a story that might prompt a double-take on an otherwise sleep afternoon. Shawn Bradley, former NBA punchline and all-around good guy, is planning on running for office in Utah’s state legislature. Really, he’s registered and everything:

“This is something that I have thought about for a long time. But I had to be in the state for three years to qualify. Because I have been out of the state playing basketball, I only recently qualified,” said Bradley, who now lives in Murray. “I’ve always been interested in politics, and I would like to make a difference in people’s lives.”
And hey! Good for him. If nothing else, the guy’s got a lot of material for posters, amirite?!
