Over the past few days, Siena coach Fran McCaffery’s name has been tossed around. His services were sought by Seton Hall and St. John’s, but on Sunday, a report is emerging that McCaffery is headed to Iowa. From Adam Zagoria:
Report: Fran McCaffery To Be Next Iowa Basketball Coach
Siena’s Fran McCaffery will be the next coach at Iowa.
“It’s done. It’s going to be Iowa,” a source with knowledge said.
The 50-year-old McCaffery has spent most of his 25-year coaching career at mid-major schools, with the exception of an 11-year tenure as an assistant at Notre Dame. As a head coach, McCaffery has a career 251-178 record. At Siena, he led the Saints to the last three MAAC titles.
