Raiders Are The ‘Leader In The Donovan McNabb Sweepstakes’
The Raiders, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, are the favorites to land McNabb.
Oakland has emerged as leader in Donovan McNabb sweepstakes. Doesn’t mean another team couldn’t get deal done, but Raiders are team to beat.
As we’ve talked about before, the contract extension is the big problem with a McNabb trade. He’s entering the final year of his deal and any team that gives up a first or second round pick will undoubtedly want to sign him to an extension first.
Any team, that is, except the Raiders, who demonstrated they’re willing to give up a first round pick for a player entering the final year of his contract..
They did it with Richard Seymour last year and, by many accounts, appear poised to do it this year.
