The curse of 370 struck again in 2009, this time to Atlanta Falcon Michael Turner. For those unfamiliar, the curse of 370 is when a running back carries the ball more then 370 times the prior year and it affects them negatively the following year. Michael Turner was no exception to this rule as he only played in eight games in 2009 due to a high ankle sprain injury which knocked him out for half of the season.
Michael Turner To Have Less Of A Work Load in 2010
↵However, the Falcons do not believe in the curse because in his eight full games Turner did have stats that were on pace with his 2008 numbers. Even with that the team is going to reduce Turner’s touches in 2010:
↵↵“I understand that the coaches want to take care of me, and that’s for the team not just for me so that I can be around a little longer.”
↵↵
Michael Turner is on schedule with his rehab and is participating with the team in the off season workouts, and expects to return to his 2008 form. The Falcons should be careful since Turner is entering year two of a six year contract that is worth $34.5 million.
