We’ve got some conflicting reports on the Donovan McNabb trade talks. On Monday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the Raiders were the leader in the clubhouse for the services of McNabb.
Report: No ‘Front-Runner’ In McNabb Trade
A day later and he was refuted by ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio, who spoke with an Eagles team official.
“There is no so-called front-runner,” the senior team official said. “We continue to engage in conversations with multiple teams that initially contacted us.”
The official said offers have ranged from draft picks only, to players only to both draft picks and players. The official also said if any offers had “blown them away” they probably would have made a deal already.
The official also refutes a report from the Associated Press last week that the Eagles were asking for a top 42 pick in April’s draft for McNabb.
“That’s not true,” the official said.
Who to believe in this one?
I’d go with ESPN.
