The injury bug bit the US Men’s National Team again on Wednesday as Stuart Holden left the team’s Friendly against the Netherlands with an apparent leg injury after a nasty tackle from Holland’s Nigel DeJong. Holden had x-rays taken after the match and his club team Bolton (Barclay’s Premier League) announced early Thursday morning that Holden had suffered a broken leg and will miss six weeks.
This time frame would allow Holden to return both for the end of Bolton’s Premier League schedule and for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, but it remains to be seen whether he will be truly fit when he returns.
