East Lansing, MI (Sports Network) - Raymar Morgan halted a late Penn State run with a key basket and added four clutch free throws down the stretch, as 11th- ranked Michigan State kept its hopes for a share of the Big Ten title alive with a 67-65 triumph over Penn State at the Breslin Center.

Morgan ended with 16 points and eight rebounds, becoming the fifth player in the school’s history to reach 1,500 career points.

Draymond Green added 14 points for the Spartans (23-7, 13-4 Big Ten), who need to beat Michigan at home on Sunday to share the conference title with at least Ohio State. Purdue also needs to win out for a three-way finish atop the standings.

Talor Battle and Chris Babb produced 16 points each for the Nittany Lions (11-18, 3-14), who had won three of their last four games after an 0-12 start to Big Ten play. Jeff Brooks chipped in 13 points and David Jackson scored 12.

Penn State was vying for its second straight upset in East Lansing, having knocked off the Spartans at home last February for its first-ever road win in the series.
