Health Canada has determined that a popular model of youth hockey stick contains an unsafe level of lead content, according to The Hockey News. Nike-Bauer Jr. Supreme One50 model sticks manufactured in 2006 are in question here, and while they have largely been replaced on the market by newer models, Health Canada has placed a ‘stop sale’ edict on those that may still be on the shelves.

↵No action has been taken in the United States as of now, but as THN notes, regulations on lead content are stricter in the States than in Canada, so it’s really only a matter of time. Don’t be surprised if a recall is put in place on these sticks in both countries.
