Made In The Shade? Only If You Pay More

It doesn’t take a meteorologist to know it can get excruciatingly hot during home games at Miami’s Sun Life Stadium. Apparently it took a Harvard business professor and a team of financial nerds, er specialists, to convince the Dolpins’ ownership to do something about it.

↵The solution? No, it’s not a retractable roof stadium. Something simpler: higher prices for seats in the shade.

↵Starting in 2010, fans in the shady part of the stadium will pay an average of $5 more per seat than their more red-faced brethren.

↵And what will fans get for their fin? Cooler temperatures by an average of 15 degrees. When it’s 89 at kickoff and feels more like 110 with the humidity, that seems like a small price to pay.
