Alistair Overeem To Fight Three To Four Strikeforce Bouts In 2010

Strikeforce head Scott Coker talks Alistair Overeem:

“But this year, I’ve been promised by Golden Glory that he’s going to fight three or four times for us here before the end of the year, and we’re going to hold him to it.”

Coker goes on to say that Overeem will have to pass all necessary drug tests and quiet down all the steroid speculation.

Having their heavyweight champion fighting regularly in their organization can only help Strikeforce. It’s very strange to think that Strikeforce is in the position of exposure that they are and the majority of American fans have likely never seen their champion compete.

Overeem/Rogers is a solid first fight for Alistair and assuming he can win the ideal next fight would be against Fedor Emelianenko. If that fight can’t happen then a potential bout with Andrei Arlovski sounds very good.
