On Friday, quarterback Jake Delhomme was officially released by the Panthers, who acted as though they were seeing their son off to college. Yes, the Carolina Panthers football club is a classy organization full of classy people who do classy things. In fact, rather than tell Delhomme’s agent over the telephone that he was released, general manager Marty Hurney actually flew to Chicago to deliver the news in person.
