Yankees Broadcaster Michael Kay Thinks He Is A Complete Jerk
↵↵The Yankees crew was talking with manager Joe Girardi about bringing in new players to the 2010 team and how that impacts team chemistry when Michael Kay asked if the team made a concerted effort to acquire quality players in the clubhouse, or if that was just an accidental by-product of getting talent to help the club.↵
↵↵Girardi gave the boilerplate answer that they look for guys with talent and the right attitude, before Kay followed the exchange – after a Ryan Howard single – with this:↵
↵↵⇥Kay: “Hey Joe, would the Yankees ever take a complete jerk if he was a great player?”↵⇥↵⇥Girardi: “Well, I don’t really think that anyone is a complete jerk.”↵⇥
↵⇥↵⇥Kay: “Oh, there are…I am.” ↵⇥
↵↵Kay may be a complete jerk – his assertion not mine – but at least he’s self-aware. That has to be worth something.↵
