March has not be a good month for the Washington Wizards and the Minnesota Timberwolves. (Well, unless they were - gasp - trying to lose!). Both teams brought 16-game losing streaks into their games last night, and neither team had won once in the month of March.

↵But as the clock struck midnight, both teams pulled through and avoided a major embarrassment. The Timberwolves topped the Kings at home 108-99, while the Wizards held on to beat a Hornets team on the road that had beaten the Lakers just two nights ago. Elias Sports Bureau says this is the first time two teams have snapped a losing streak of more than 12 games on the same night.
↵How do fans of both teams feel? SB Nation’s Wolves blog Canis Hoopus titled their post “Avoiding Complete Disaster,” while SB Nation’s Wizards blog Bullets Forever had no choice but to invoke Flava Flav. Either way, congratulations are in order to both teams for snapping their streaks.
