SceneDaily.com’s Bob Pockrass is wondering if the extra 65 laps at Phoenix – which made the race nearly four hours long – were a good thing.

↵Pockrass, in his column today, noted that only three races in all of 2009 were longer than Saturday night’s Phoenix race.
↵Since Phoenix was even longer than one of the Pocono races last season, Pockrass wrote:

↵While the talk after the race was about taking two tires or four tires and the excitement of the final couple of laps, it is likely NASCAR will re-examine whether it wants the Phoenix races to go that long.

↵That would be wise. Because if you ask us, tracks should be shortening their races right now, not adding to them.
