Which Athletes Have The Dumbest Fans?

↵↵Courtesy of Mashable, we get another way to be judgmental of athletes, writers and our peers. They direct us to my favorite Twitter site of the moment: Stupid Fight. How does it estimate how stupid a person’s followers are?↵

↵↵⇥“It estimates based on several stupid indicators. Are they using twenty exclamation marks in a row? Do they endlessly use the abbreviation ‘OMG’? Do they seem incapable of working out where their Shift key is? These indicators have a strong correlation with the message, and its sender, being stupid.”↵↵↵With that in mind, it only seemed right to turn this critical and highly scientific site on the sports world. I went to WeFollow.com to find some of the athletes with the largest follower lists and put them to the test. For example, Shaq has the largest following at 2,875,849 and counting, but the stupidity of Dwight Howard’s 1,540,268 followers trumps Shaq’s, as seen in the screen grab above. (And yes, scores can change, because obviously athletes are always getting new replies.)↵

↵↵Here are some of the top (er ... bottom?) athlete scores:↵

↵↵C.J. Watson - 842↵
↵Dwight Howard - 759↵
↵Derek Fisher - 692↵
↵Kerry Rhodes - 665↵
↵Shaquille O’Neal - 566↵
↵John Calipari - 511↵
↵Pete Carroll - 441↵
↵Lance Armstrong - 427↵

↵

↵These things can fluctuate, but I do love seeing entire fan bases being described somewhere between "thick as two short planks" and "dumb as a bag of hammers." It gets right to the point. But before closing the book on this little social experiment and moving on, I'd be overlooking some serious fun if I didn't check out TSB's writers for who has the dumbest followers.↵

↵

↵Dan Levy - 125↵
↵Andy Hutchins - 125↵
↵Chris Littmann - 85↵
↵Michael Tunison - 35↵
↵Brian Cook - 3↵
↵*Site was having problems spitting out an answer for Freek. Take that for whatever it means.↵↵

↵↵So I encourage you to go forth and be judgmental of your friends and family members. After all, there’s no better way to judge people than by the company they keep.↵
