The Phillie Phanatic Wants Your Love And He Wants Your Revenge
↵
↵This is probably pushing the limits of how risque a sports mascot is allowed to be, and for that we must applaud the Phillie Phanatic for throwing on a mock-up of Lady Gaga’s spiky red costume from last year’s MTV Video Music Awards and busting moves while the singer’s hit “Bad Romance” played at Citizens Bank Park on Monday. Washington Nationals third base coach Pat Listach got to be a close observer and sometimes target of the Phanatic’s suggestive moves, though he was somehow able to withstand the pure sexual energy of the music with accommodating thrusting motions from a giant green plush monster. Such restraint on that man.↵↵Personally, I think the Phanatic might have one-upped Gaga with this performance. Sure, the costume was originally one of hers, but has Gaga ever worked an ATV into her act? I don’t believe so. At the very least she needs to bring the mascot with her on the ongoing tour, provided there are no scheduling conflicts with Phillie home games.↵
