Brian Kelly Cleaning Up The Mean Streets Of The Notre Dame Football Program

Brian Kelly is rebuilding the Fighting Irish in his own image, on and off the field, and that image is hardworking, grounded -- wait, so that’s everything Notre Dame wasn’t before?

↵Kelly is aiming to put Notre Dame first, in minds of its players and in the polls. He wants to persuade the Irish to start worrying more about their teammates than where they will be drafted. […] He also wants to build the team spiritually, an area where he said the team was lacking. […] He has been making the rounds on campus, including at various sporting events. Kelly walks around at halftime shaking hands and talking to people. He even did an Irish jig at halftime of a women’s game.
↵The takeaway from this is twofold: 1) Why were a good portion of these practices not in place already in what’s been an ostensibly buttoned-down, faith-first program? 2) Brian Kelly did an Irish jig at a women’s basketball game.
