So much for taking more time off. Despite saying that he would do so to “kind of re-evaluate things” following his disappointing fourth-place finish in the Masters, Tiger Woods will apparently be back on the golf course two weeks from now at the Quail Hollow Championship in Charlotte, North Carolina, according to the AP.
Tiger Woods Will Play At Quail Hollow In Two Weeks
Woods made the announcement via his website, which added Quail Hollow to his official schedule. The tournament runs from April 29th through May 2nd.
Woods has made Quail Hollow a regular stop the past several years, and the tournament director expects recent Masters champion Phil Mickelson to compete as well. It’ll be interesting to see what type of reaction Woods garners in his first regular tour stop. Woods (largely) avoided these concerns by coming back at the Masters, given how tightly the officials at Augusta monitor the galleries and maintain decorum. Quail Hollow will be the first real test to see how the golfing public by and large reacts to Woods after his prolonged absence following the revelation of his string of affairs.
