22 year old southpaw Brett Anderson, easily the most impressive of Oakland’s countless young starters a year ago, has come into some money, as Yahoo!‘s Jeff Passan announces that Anderson and the A’s have agreed on a long-term contract.
Anderson, who was a rookie in 2009, was already under team control through 2014. This contract, apparently retroactive to include 2010, provides cost certainty for both the player and the club, and the options include what was to be Anderson’s first year of free agency.
