Brett Anderson's $12.5 mil guarantee over 4 years has $1 mil signing bonus, $1.5 mil buyout. Max is $31 mil w/ 2 option years.
Anderson's option years are $8 mil in 2014 and $12 mil in 2015. If both exercised, it's a $31 mil package.
Anderson was previously under contract for $0.41m in 2010, his second year of team control. Sure enough, this looks like an excellent deal for Billy Beane and the A’s.
