Mike Leach’s Lawyer Hates Homophones

As the ugly legal battle between Texas Tech and former head football coach Mike Leach continues to escalate, Leach is now claiming that university officials conspired to can him long before the alleged mistreatment of Adam James.

↵Of course, university officials needed some reason to fire Leach for cause and avoid paying the remainder of the pirate-obsessed coach’s contract. So Leach’s attorneys say Tech’s chancellor asked the lawyer who looked into the James incident to punch up her report because it was “too milk toast.”

↵Now, I have nothing in particular against the breakfast food milk toast. But I believe the university’s chancellor probably used the term “milquetoast.”

↵That said, let’s not be too harsh on Mr. Leach’s counsel. After all, Craig James has been added to the lawsuit as a defendant, which is something all college football fans should be able to applaud.

↵(Besides, milquetoast actually comes from an intentional misspelling of “milk toast.” Class dismissed.)
