Sprint Cup, Nationwide Races Postponed To Monday NASCAR Doubleheader

NASCAR has postponed both the Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series races at Texas Motor Speedway to Monday.

The Sprint Cup race will be run at 11 a.m. local time (noon EDT), followed by the Nationwide race at 4 p.m. (5 p.m. EDT).

Though forecasters expected the rain would stop in time to get at least the Sprint Cup race in, a persistent mist and drizzle never let up enough for crews to dry the track.

The track has lights, but NASCAR announced it would postpone the races at 3:30 p.m. local time.

Fans with a ticket to either race will be allowed into the track.

Fox will still broadcast the Sprint Cup race; ESPN2 is slated to broadcast the Nationwide Series race.

In total, there will be 800 miles of racing tomorrow (500 for Sprint Cup, 300 for Nationwide).
