Spring practice is just past its half-way point for the USC Trojans under first-year coach Lane Kiffin. Players are still adapting to what is more of a “military-style” under Kiffin. Safety Jawanza Starling could become a star under the new regime. It’s all the usual headlines you’d expect out of spring ball. ↵↵The Trojans’ marching band found its own way to knock off some rust over the weekend: playing with Coheed and Cambria at the Coachella Music Festival on Saturday. ↵↵⇥Paying homage to their Nov. 28, 2009 half-time performance against UCLA, the marching band head banged to the beat. The song, unbelievably full of sound from the additional instruments created a larger than life feel for Coheed’s final song.↵↵↵There is no word as to whether C&C lead singer Claudio Sanchez’s hair is so long and thick as his own homage to former USC stars Troy Polamalu and Rey Maualuga.↵
