The Cowboys are making a couple of notable roster moves today. According to the Dallas Morning News, LT Flozell Adams and S Ken Hamlin are on their way out.
Cowboys Will Release LT Flozell Adams, S Ken Hamlin
Adams, 34, was originally a 1998 second round draft pick by the Cowboys. He’s spent his entire 13 year career in Dallas. He was due to make over $7 million in 2010 so the move makes sense. Plus, the Cowboys can afford to go younger with OT Doug Free.
Hamlin signed a multi-year contract with the team in 2007 and has been a disappointment ever since. The DMN weighs in on Hamlin’s release.
Certainly, something is up. Either the Cowboys have faith in Alan Ball, or they are seriously contemplating drafting or bringing in a new safety via free agency/trade.
Hamlin was set to make $5.5 million and had $1 million of guaranteed money remaining on his contract.
