Sponsor Silly Season: Shell Pennzoil To Kurt Busch; Miller Lite To Keselowski; Mobil 1 To...?

NASCAR’s Silly Season is in full bloom, as evidenced by the latest news today: Shell Pennzoil is leaving Richard Childress Racing to sponsor Kurt Busch at Penske (the car will be the No. 22) and Miller Lite moves to Brad Keselowski (the car number will stay No. 2).

↵Where that leaves Kevin Harvick and Richard Childress Racing, no one is quite sure. Childress released a statement saying Pennzoil’s departure provided a new opportunity for a company to sponsor Harvick, but the driver’s contract is up at the end of the season.

↵And where does it leave former IndyCar champ Sam Hornish Jr. with Penske? Pennzoil’s arrival means Mobil 1 will depart and leave Hornish unsponsored for now, but the team reportedly plans to keep him in a Sprint Cup car next season.

↵In the meantime, tell us what you think of the highest-profile piece of the move.
